Remembering Grandpa

I was going through some older pictures on my computer and came across these I took at grandma and grandpa's a few years ago. We used some of them for the memory book that we put together. I've forgotten how wonderful his yard looked, even when these were taken in November. I'll always remember grandpa in his garden.

Wisteria and Bees!

I love spring, with it's hope of renewal! That these beautiful blossoms come out of brown sticks. I love walking under them, and hearing all the bees buzzing collecting the nectar.

Hope everyone had a nice Easter. Yes, it's true I did sing in the ward Easter choir and enjoyed the beautiful message of the songs. (Okay I may have lip sinced a bit)

Happy Easter!

I'm sure I'm not the only one who remembers mom sewing us all matching Easter dresses each Easter. Having 3 girls, I also felt an irrestible urge to have a little matching going on today. So, Caitlin and Lizzie each got a new skirt. Abby got shafted, since I didn't have time to make her the dress I was planning on, but she didn't seem to mind! These are the skirts I made for the big girls:

These are actually the bridesmaid's skirts that Kate and Em wore at our wedding. I just made them short and small to fit them, and added a little tulle sash in the front. The girls loved them!

It took a few shots to get to that first one I posted. Ah, the joys of children:

Abby's not wearing her church dress since she had an accident in nursery. She's been doing pretty darn great potty-training overall, though. I can't complain over the occasional accident!

Books, anyone?

I've added some books that I've really enjoyed reading the last few months to the list on the right. While I'm waiting for my next book club read to become available at the library I need some ideas for other books. SO- what are your suggestions?!

I PASSED!!!

....my shooting test!!! Yeah!! Now all I have to do is pay some fees, take some paperwork to the police station and get fingerprinted- and viola!! I'm a recognized concealed carry permit holder in Nevada, Utah, and 31 other states (none of which are California, by the way).

My friend Sarah and I went down to take our test this morning and it was a lot of arranging to make it happen so we were both relieved to pass! I had to get a note from my midwife (because I'm pregnant) so they'd let me shoot, drop Caitlin off early at a friends to get her to school, and then we got 2 babysitters to watch 8 little girls at Sarah's. And that's what it takes to get two moms out of the house on a Friday morning to take a gun test.

I scored a 302 out of 360 possible, which I was pleased with since my gun kept jamming and several rounds I couldn't get off in the minute alloted because I was trying to unjam my gun! I found right after I got my gun it needs a certain type of ammo, but when you take the test, you have to use the lead-free ammo they give you. So I was expecting it to jam a little, but it was a lot more trouble than I thought it was going to be. So yay!!! I'm excited to have taken care of this test and don't have to worry about it anymore!

Rod and I are celebrating with a date night and chocolate!!!!
