my new bike and other news

so, my pictures are uploading weird, so i'm just going to write a summary of them all down here. so i got a new bike! i told dad i would post some pics. (it's the silver one, not the red one). I finally made it up boarding and it was awesome! And I also put up a pic of my cake i made for our cake walk. anyway, so those are a few recent happenings...

It has been done

Well, I did it. I cut his hair. I didn't go crazy or anything but the tendrils are gone. I did cut a lot off as you can tell by the pile of hair. Precious hair! I saved some of course. He still has curls and it wasn't as scary as I thought. I think curly hair is actually easier to cut. Much more room for error!

I couldn't resist posting some of Abby...this child is as sweet as they come! She seems so content and at peace with the world. She is so happy just being talked to or read to. She's discovering her voice and the coos that she can make. We love this baby!

Caitlin is 5!!!

Caitlin wanted a "Duncan" cake...I guess he really made an impression on her. This was my version, from a book of children's cakes.

Kate, Caitlin really liked her fan, and Em, she was SO thrilled at getting 5 pieces of gum. And Mom, she's really excited to bust out that pavement paint tomorrow after school!

I tried explaining that this wasn't a "big" party- because we had a big one last year and, although we celebrate every year, the full-blown parties, complete with invitations and favor bags, are only every other year. Apparently that wasn't good enough, because Caitlin made her own favor bags. Yup, complete with rocks, leaves, pictures cut from magazines, and one piece of candy each. And she gave them to them, and her friends thought they were great!

For her party they made bracelets, had a picnic in our backyard, then I took them all out for ice cream.

A Busy Weekend

We had a busy Saturday! Devon did "Mini-Basketball" which is for kids 3rd grade through 6th. He had a tournament half the day on Sat. then we hopped in the car and drove almost 2 hrs to the Stake center for the Pinewood Derby. His car won a few races and he was pretty happy about that. It was a fun, but exhausting day!

Troy got this for me for my bday, isn't it cute? It has herbs and some other plants in it, I love it.

Spring is here...

... for only like 3 weeks, so I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts! I chopped these off a tree in our back yard. Aren't they pretty?

Time Flies When You're Having Fun.....

It was a very relaxing and fun weekend for me! It was so nice to live close enough to go home for a couple of days...especially with only ONE child. I'm so glad I could be there when Kate went through the temple. Thanks for babysitting Em! It was bittersweet to come back home. Troy did great alone with the other kids and the whole house was clean when I got home, what a guy! Here's a few pics from the weekend....
