Bathtime and Birthdays

When Audrey takes a bath, she means business. She took a 2 1/2 hr bath the other day. It was war to get her to take one, but then of course it was war to get her to get out. She was having fun playing with ponies and barbies. It was really great for both of us. Sometimes we need a break from each other. She loves to look at her wrinkley hands and feet when she gets out.

Devon's 9th birthday was on Sunday, so on Friday I made his favorite- cinnamon rolls, and brought them to his class to share. He was very embarrassed when he was being sung to. See picture above.

Last night we had some friends over as well as the missionsaries for a birhday dinner. I really wanted to make a cake, how do you not make a cake on a birthday? Devon walked into the kitchen with his shirt over his mouth and nose and declared "AHHHRRH what it that smell?" It's just cake, Devon. Cake.

The Office!!

So who caught the season premiere of the Office last night?? I'll admit, I was a little worried that they're going to ruin this great show by dragging it out and crappy writing (I thought the episodes last season post-strike were really not that great). But I thought this season premiere was really great- back to the original style that make this such a great show! AND Pam and Jim -who saw that coming on the first episode?? I just really really really hope they don't screw things up with that!!

2008 Cactus Cup

This weekend Rod did a bike race! It's called the Cactus Cup, it's a 3-day stage race of various events (Cross Country, Super D, etc). There were pros there and everything! Rod even recognized a few from his magazines. The serious people do all 3 days of events, for a chance to win the overall awards. Rod did the Super D on Saturday. The girls and I got there right after he finished the race (I didn't think the girls would do well waiting in the desert for an hour for Rod to finish the race). It was fun to see all the competitors and bikes. Afterwards they had a big event at a park with booths and vendors and things, so we made a day of it. The girls really enjoyed playing at the park, which had a water part to it. Rod entered in the Beginner class, and finished 6th overall out of 21. Rod's doctor told him this week that he needs to have 2 more surgeries on his arms...so Rod figured he'd better do stuff like this as much as he's able!

This is the finish line, the women were just finishing

Lizzie LOVED the water in the park!

The park was all midwest-themed, this is a stagecoach.

This is kinda sad! Periodically Caitlin gets out all her cold-weather things and pretends it's cold outside! It cracks us up. She said she was pretending there was snow in the mountains.

End of summer/Back to school happenings!!

Well summer was alot of fun at home, it was fun just being home again and seeing brooke and the boys and kate and working at good ol' Double Rainbow again! I left my camera is Brooke's purse when she left to go home, but i got it back, (Thanks Brooke!) So there are some picutres i wanted to post from summer. Sorry they are all out of order, i never think about what order i want them in until they are already uploaded; by then i'm just to frustrated to upload them all agian! :) One of the only pictures i could get of Devon-and he didn't even know! I got ya Dev!! This is at the Giants game!
This is me and brett's sisters. The two on the end are his sisters and the two in the middle with me are his sis-in laws. When we were in utah we had a 'girls outing' for his sister b-day, and i was invited!

Trav's outfits keep gettin cooler..i wanted to take a picture of how fly he looked!!
Happy Birthday Cam!!
Cam and Dev kept doing this in the spa-they look like rock stars!
ok.let me explain. These are some shoes i got in London. They wore out really fast, so i started wearing them to work because i usually spill bleach or ice cream or something all over me. So as the weeks went on they became a little more worn. But everyday i worked i would just staple the sides and they'd last me until the end of that day! Something was satisfying about the fact that i was getting my moneys worth!! so, yes i wore my shoes like this, sometimes when i'd come out from behind the counter i'd see a customer staring down at my feet...but it was so sastisfying throwing them away my last day of work!
At the baseball game-we were postitioned weird with the camera-or else i'd have my arm around my sister!
So i'm back in middle-of-nowhere Rexburg, taking 16 credits, getting colder, there is NOTHING to do, and i never seem to get enough sleep...sometimes i ask myself how i ended up in the southern eastern part of the state of Idaho, and i want to cry and come home to sunny, fun california. But then i usually will snap out of it and realize i am grateful to be here! (even though there is still not much to do!) but brett and i have had some fun dates already. We saw Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband perform on campus, and this weeknd we're going to a performance where they bang on big bins and tap dance! (no, not an indian ritual) so, it will be fun!
I am already looking forward very much to seeing everyone at thanksgiving! oh ya, and don't forget if anyone ever wants to come visit, or send your kids up for a visit, i would love it! :)

what's goin on..

Here's some pictures of us lately, starting with the most recent. This weekend we had a fun ward activity at some natural warm springs owned by the LDS Church. It was a lot of fun, and the water is incredible- no chlorine! Just natural springs circulating throughout the huge pool. Our ward had a bbq and the girls really enjoyed swimming around:

Caitlin was really hard to get a picture of- she was always on the move!
Lizzie max-relaxin' in her tube.

Bug goggles! Caitlin made this in preschool. She LOVED them, she thought they were so cool! Preschool is working out well, I'm really glad about that!

This is part of our Labor Day. Rod had the day off, so we filled the day with wild and crazy adventures like painting terra cotta pots (even Rod had one to paint!). The girls loved it. Then they set up a reading picnic after swimming in the little pool- they were just so happy to read books while frying in the sun.

And, I have to post a picture of my expensive maternity dress! Of course, I don't carry it off quite like the model, but it came and I tried it on and I love it! (By the way, you can wrap this dress to suit you, so when I wrap mine it's not low-cut!)

Last but not least, my friend had her baby at home last night! And I was there! It was exciting and short- I got there at 2:30 am and she had her baby at 3:45! I'm glad I got to see sort of how the whole home birth thing works, and exactly how it's different from a hospital birth. It was a neat experience!

Whittle update

Recently the fair came to Fall River, it was so fun! The kids always looked forward to the Yakima fair in WA, so they were very excited to go. It reminded Troy and I of the fair from Charlotte's Web. Troy's parents came to visit a couple weeks ago, and we enjoyed spending time with them. Cheryl came to the fair with us, while Glenn stayed home with Corey. We went fishing, hiked down to Burney Falls and played some intense games of Clue!

Thanks for visiting us Grandma and Grandpa Whittle!

The bananas turning brown have been haunting me all week. It was time. Me and Cameron are the only ones who enjoy the deliciousness of banana bread, I think it was all gone within the hour.

Politics Part 2

Here is an interesting link from a story in the Boston Globe. How anyone could be the way Obama is on abortion makes me so sad.
